Altitude sickness is the most common illness for climbers and mountaineers in higher areas. There are three different types of altitude sickness: acute altitude sickness or also called acute mountain sickness (AMT), high altitude pulmonary oedema (HAPE) and high altitude cerebral oedema (HACE).
